Our Mission

Tents for Homeless (a CHRCL project) addresses the critical need to protect homeless people from inclement weather and to offer a temporary night-time place of refuge by providing durable, light-weight, weather-resistant tents and sleeping bags to homeless men, women, and children unable to find emergency shelters.

During the summer we organize small groups of volunteers to distribute tents among homeless men, women, and children of Down Town Los Angeles.

We offer year round opportunities to work from home with our outreach team on volunteer recruitment and organizing donations from tent distribution organizations.

Whether mailing or donating in person, we take in tents, tarps, and sleeping bags. Additionally, we accept tax deductible donations online.

Resources

Tents for Homeless currently only provides to people in the Los Angeles area, visit our resources page to find services in other areas. We also provide information on understanding your legal rights for both homeless individuals and undocumented immigrants. Additionally, we plan to release a guide starting similar organizations in other cities.
